How do I access the Cenibot app in MS Teams?

To access the Cenibot app in MS Teams, go to your menu bar (on the left).
Find the Cenibot app icon and name, click it, and start chatting.
If you don’t see the Cenibot app, follow these steps:

  1. Click ‘View more apps’ (•••) in the menu bar.

2. Search for ‘Cenibot’.

3. Right-click on the Cenibot icon and select ‘Pin’ to add Cenibot to your menu bar for quicker access.

Note: If you left-click the icon, Cenibot will open but won’t be pinned for easy access.
If you still can’t find Cenibot, contact the IT Service Centre for assistance.

I didn’t receive Cenibot’s initial ‘Welcome’ message in Teams.
Does this impact my Cenibot access or its functionality in MS Teams?

No, your access and Cenibot’s functionality won’t be affected. Occasionally, some users may miss the ‘Welcome’ message if their MS Teams needs an update when the app is installed.

What helpful information does the ‘Welcome’ message contain?

“The ‘Welcome’ message provides:

  • A link to a knowledge article to help you navigate and use Cenibot in MS Teams or the Portal.
  • A list of useful prompts (commands) to help you chat with Cenibot and manage requests. Type ‘Help’ in the Cenibot chat to view the list.
The Cenibot icon in MS Teams is not the usual Cenibot robot. Is there anything wrong with Cenibot?

No, Cenibot will still work properly. The icon issue is likely due to your MS Teams needing an update.
How to check for and complete an update to your MS Teams:

Can I still access Cenibot via the GO portal or my portal link?

Yes, you can access Cenibot via the GO portal or your department’s ServiceNow portal link.
Using Cenibot in MS Teams is just another, more convenient option.

I use the MS Teams mobile app. Can I access Cenibot from there?

Yes, if you’ve installed the MS Teams app on your mobile device, you can access Cenibot there too.

Can I access and chat with a Live Agent from Cenibot in MS Teams?

Yes, you can chat with a Live Agent through Cenibot in MS Teams.
It functions the same as in the portal but is more convenient within Teams.

Is Cenibot’s functionality any different in MS Teams compared to the portal?

Why am I receiving notifications in Cenibot in MS Teams?

A feature specific to MS Teams, if you have an open ticket with Cenitex IT and there is an update in your ticket, or you’re an approver who is being asked to approve something in ServiceNow, you will receive a notification in your Cenibot MS Teams chat. This is in addition to ServiceNow email notifications you may also receive in your email inbox.
If you prefer not to receive ticket notifications in MS Teams, you can easily turn them off (or on again).
