Email Protection DMARC

Domain-based Message Authentication Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) is an email authentication protocol designed to give email domain owners the ability to protect their domain from unauthorised use.

DMARC is an open email authentication protocol that provides domain-level protection of the email channel. DMARC authentication detects and prevents email spoofing techniques used in phishing, Business Email Compromise (BEC) and other email-based attacks.

DMARC leverages two additional email authentication mechanisms:

  • Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email validation protocol designed to detect and block emails.
  • Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication method that detects email spoofing.
